SkyeView Farm’s name came from the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The love of Skye is the root of Katie Foster Ard’s family history. Originally from Columbia, SC, Katie moved in 2000 from Tryon, NC, to Edgefield, SC. A career move with her marketing background. Her resume includes a list of equine publications and, most recently, her work for a nationwide Ag Media company.
Katie’s love for horses came from her grandmother, Kate. If you ask Katie’s mom, she’d tell you Katie has loved horses since the day she was born. That love affair has guided Katie on many adventures, from rodeos to hunter-jumpers and foxhunting. She’s foxhunted the eastern seaboard, whipped in for several hunts, and ridden and foxhunted in Ireland, but now she just rides for pleasure. In addition, Katie and her husband, Coley, have helped with many equine events in this area. Katie and Coley have owned SkyeView Farm for many years and want to share it with people who need a place to stay during their travel, lay-ups, or horse events. In addition, the farm has been a safe haven for friends running from hurricanes. |
